We were here for a trade show and came on a Wednesday night. Advise getting reservations as the place is in high demand for a good reason. We had a party of 8 and our waiter always was taking care of us and making sure our drinks were filled. The ambience was laid back and old school but classy. I have a garlic allergy and the wait staff did a great job of telling me what I could and could not have. I had the old fashioned and it was delicious and there is a great wine selection as well. I ordered the Gibson's select ribeye and it cooked to perfection as it was charred on the outside and medium on inside. Their desserts are huge as well so a party of 8 we had plenty. Can't go wrong with this place, highly recommend.

Went to this place on a Friday night with my husband and a few friends. It was a nice evening out, so this place was busy inside and out. We were sat immediately and had multiple servers that checked in on us throughout the night. We ordered some drinks to start out the evening before ordering our entrees. The food came out in an appropriate amount of time and the food was delicious. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I have ever had and I'm really glad we got them as a side. Our friends got a backed potato and asparagus as their sides and there was enough to split between all of us at the table. The sides are huge there, so the price seems reasonable once you see how big they are. The overall experience was excellent and we really enjoyed our time there and of course, we would return there again.

We love to dine in at gibson's. They always do such a nice job with their entrees and service. It's always super busy and popping with people. We dined this time for lunch and got the lobster bisque which was so delicious. We split the filet salad and it was good! Good spot for a quick and easy lunch. Love the great wine selection as well.

Gibsons is always a must when I'm in town. This time around I was here for a work trade show, and we had a great time. Our experience was led by server, Angel. Great recommendations and superb table attention by the entire staff. Expect steaks cooked to perfection, I also recommend the crab cakes and we drooled over the creamed spinach. We did not have room, BUT, the desserts are superb. Thanks again for the great experience! We even got to meet Gibsons legend, Dan Huebschmann - the current Corporate Executive Chef for Gibsons Restaurant Group, which includes Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse. Do yourself a favor, eat at any Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse.

I don't like making reservations but the other night I did because I was in the area hadn't eaten dinner and was getting peckish. It seemed like every seat in the restaurant was full. On a random weekday In the winter. I also noticed plenty of staff around. I was little thrown off by the birthday greeting the staff chants at guests but grew used to it over the evening. Started off with a Vesper Martini. It was nice and cold the way a Vesper should be! Went with Caesar salad. For my steak I chose a Porterhouse with a side of mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes came with a red wine gravy that was interesting. Steak was cooked to my liking. Nice and Rare! Bread was decent. Some different kinds.

Gibson's is a top steakhouse in Chicago. It is very popular and you will need to book reservations well in advance. When you enter, you definitely get that classic restaurant feel and see photos of all the celebrities that have eaten there in the past. Service was impeccable throughout the meal and our server had a great sense of humor and helped make the dinner memorable. We were in a large group. They have a great cocktail list, but we went for a bottle of red wine from their extensive wine list. The bread they served was very nice. We did not get appetizers, but focused on steaks and sides. I ended up splitting the W.R Chicago Cut which is 22 ounces. They apparently source the beef from their own farm and the quality is outstanding. This particularly cut was excellent, really flavorful and cooked perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone--it is at the top of We had several sides including fries, mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, mushrooms, and asparagus. Everything was truly wonderful. The fries were skinny and fried perfectly while the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy. The mushrooms complemented the steak really well. Then the brussels sprouts were a treat, with plenty of bacon. Others in party enjoyed the prime rib, filet, and Porterhouse (that was also split). Everyone was really happy with steaks, just top notch. We were there to celebrate someone's 21st birthday. We were in the process of ordering desserts when we were surprised with a nice dessert that fed the whole table. I do not want to ruin surprise, but definitely worth doing a celebration here. (Also since it was his 21st birthday, they also brought him a nice cocktail). The meal was truly wonderful and I look forward to going there again.

I finally had the luxury of dining a Gibsons Steakhouse, which has been a Chicago classic for decades. As you enter, the walls are paved with photos of celebrities who have visited in the past. I didn't recognize all the pictures and I'm sure some where local celebrities. We where seated in one of the main dining rooms. Our waiter gave us a rundown of the menu, explained the different steak cuts, and showed a visual presentation of some of the steak cuts. The 22 oz W.R.'s Chicago Cut at $87 was being pushed but I really felt like having a T-bone. I like the T-bone because it's comprised of two cuts of meat, the strip and the tenderloin making it a two for one. Service was impeccable as it should be at a high end steakhouse. I ordered my steak medium with asparagus and a plain baked potato. The food came out quickly. The T-bone was cooked as ordered. The meat had a good sear, was full of flavor with a good marble, and was juicy. The asparagus came out cold, which I wasn't a fan of. Other that that, everything was good including the potato. I enjoyed the food, the ambiance, and felt satisfied at the end.
